Dying While Still Alive

thoughtless mirages wander
reality’s non-existent hearts
lamentingly helpless images
lost amidst life’s wilderness
of nonextant exhumed ideas,

as terrene aliveness silenced
languishing afterbirth’s once
cascading promising sentient
hope’s yet dying resurrected
spiritless souls reinvent death,

till time relinquishes human
listlessness’ ambient despair
deeply inherent dire presence
mankind’s benighted author
of witting living while dead
