Dusk Falls Softly
Dusk slowly falls across the land
spooky shadows begin appearing.
Trees sway seeming to walk
waving their branches in time.
Hoots of owls on the prowl
carry far into the night.
Ghostly figures slip by
some, creatures of the night.
Others look much more sinister
yet soon fade out of sight.
Deer stealthy go to drink
and the pale moon mirrors them.
Their eyes shining bright
in the reflective light.
The night darkens
and the moon beams down.
Stars caught dance in her light
as peace covers the land.
Slowly the mystic of night passes
and dawn creeps across the sky.
