Drove Me To Poetry So long we were together the love we knew so true. Now it feels just like forever since I'm here missing you. The memories so dear to me like words in some old rhyme They somehow bring me comfort and hurt at the same time. The day I looked to find you gone it drove me to one knee. The day that heaven called you home drove me to poetry. Searching for something not yet found to mend my broken heart. Searching for some peace of mind while I fall all apart. Everything I ever dreamed of then suddenly you're gone. I'm not sure what I'm doing. Is this called moving on? Stuck between our yesterdays and things still yet to be. The way your leaving broke my heart drove me to poetry. Edwin C Hofert

What a wonderful piece. I hope this is poetic license and not something you have gone through, but it feels like it comes from your heart. BG

This is from grief expressed to me by a friend who lost her husband to cancer last December. And she had never been interested in poetry before that but it's where she turned for comfort. She quoted to me from a letter from one poet to another that read "Ireland hurt you into poetry". His death did the same for her. Yes. It did come from my heart. Thank you Barbara. <3
