Dreaming of Retirement

The alarm goes off And I'm out of bed. Wash my face, Run a brush over my head. Head to the kitchen, Coffee is ready. The aroma of hazelnut, Delicious and heady. Walk to the desk, Turn the computer on. Check my e-mails, Time's almost gone. Brush my teeth, Head for the door. Off to work, Weekdays are a bore. But then it's the weekend, I wake when I wake. Off to the kitchen, Coffee to make. Turn on the computer To see what's new. Sip coffee by the window Enjoying the view. I love my days off, To relax and unwind. Jot down poetry That comes to my mind. Looking forward to when Time off is the norm. When jeans and bare feet Are my work uniform.

I'm with you, Francine! If they're financially able, many people are retiring early to enjoy having jeans and bare feet be their "work uniforms." Witty and well composed. Love, Carolyn

Once again, splendid wording and rhyming. A nice way to describe a type of lifestyle you share with so many millions of other inhabitants of North America.
