Dreamers
We are dreamers,
we walk with our hearts wide open,
and our ears shut
to voices which shout
" You can't win"
"You are a loser"
"You are blind".
Blind?
They see us asleep
as we walk,
and that's why we step
on nails, fall into a hole,
or hit a wall.
What they fail to see
is our pleasure beyond the nail pricks,
the treasures in the holes
we've fallen into,
and walls we can go round them.
Yes,
we are dreamers,
we walk with our hearts wide open,
and our ears shut.
