Dragon Dreams
My dreams
Fight dragons
Men in grim faces
fall behind me.
My dreams
March across lonely roads
Shuddering cries before me.
Weeping roars from hanging trees
Across the angry rivers.
I am weary.
Where are the heroes that
my grandfather grabbed from distant times?
Where are the sharpened spears
eased on mighty shoulders?
Where are the whispering hands---
Gentle
Yet stinging bees
On the faces of my enemies?
Find the armies
of my friends.
Send them to me
Before my head
Lies uneasy on your pillow.
