Down By the Edge of the Woods
Down by the Edge of the Woods
I know a place I love to go,
It’s quiet and pure as the driven snow.
A place that I can call my own,
A special place I can think and dream alone.
Down by the edge of the woods.
I hear a breeze that blows all day,
It asks my heart never go away.
My heart replies I’ll always be,
Safely lying under my old oak tree.
Down by the edge of the woods.
It’s so quiet you can almost hear,
God as He whispers in my ear.
He tells me ‘everything is just fine,
Because I know that you are mine.’
Down by the edge of the woods.
If you want to rest someday at my place,
Come on down and I’ll make some space.
God has given this all to me,
So I might share it with all I see.
Down by the edge of the woods.
