Don'T Cry For Me

Please, do not cry for me when I am dead No promise is given when we are born This world always confused my eyes, my head and I entered it blind, angry and torn My judgments where based on my own design Twisted paths chosen, my body ventured Something searched for with direction to align Allowed my thoughts to become self assured To have seen this world of beauty and death and struggled with insanity of mankind Rather I seek peace in the quietest breath As the flames rise daily from the hate I find When last breath of death comes no tears will fall As I failed to change the world after all

I feel the passion in your words, Frederic...we make more of a difference in our daily lives than we realize, I think...but even with the struggles you have witnessed to still have peace within yourself is something significant to share...I love the line"...peace in the quietest breath"...hugs, Rhonda

Awesome muse, subtle and appealing! Sombre wry muse but side by side an appreciation of life in a poetic realistic style I like. True to life. But don't die on us even if death would be peaceful. We still want more poems from yah. Nice to read u again.

The "insanity of mankind" keeps me awake at night, Frederic. We cannot even watch the news without learning of horrific acts that turn our stomachs. A cockeyed optimist, I want to believe we can still change the world. Still, it does seem to be a futile effort and death may be the only time we find peace. Can relate to this poignant sonnet. If this is for Sara's contest, you surely have a winner. Love, Carolyn

Sorry Federick, we may not be able to change the world my friend, but if we can leave the world without being absorbed into the world, maybe we can plant a few seed to be watered by another.
