Do You Remember

Do you remember Just like a baby look Up to the mother for milk The people look up to Their leaders for truth and life But now we are confused Do you remember In the presence of the people You took an oat You swear to be truthful and honest You took an oat of power Base on the Trust from the people Do you remember In the presence of nature And GOD you made a vow You pronounce words of promise Before the people permitted You as a leader Do you remember You don't just get to the Position you are now If not for the people Do you remember How truthful you sound Before now Talking about a new reform That will bring a change Do you remember How the people trusted you Do you remember The voice of the people Is the voice of GOD Do you remember my brother do you remember You say you have the power No way The people have The final say Do you remember How it was for you When you were on the road To leadership If not for the people You know where you would have been Now the same people now weep tears From your brutality The same people now cry From your lies Do you remember How fair The people where to you before now How do you sleep at night When you see your people In poverty How do you swallow fufu When you know there Are so many hungry souls All around the corner How do you feel When your people suffer From illness and no Money for the hospital bill How do you feel when an hungry Boy is burn away like a waste At the corners of the street Just for stealing food If only You could remember What you first stood for If only you understand The gravity behind the Oat you took I know the people Never voted you For what it is now Do you remember That all you do Will live to affect You unborn kids Just turn around Think again Do you remember
