Did I tell You

Did I say how much I loved you,
Daddy dear, when you were here?
Though you knew it, were they truly
Words you would have liked to hear?

I’m always bragging of you Daddy,
Comparing you to other men.
Not a one can ever match you.
I am bragging once again.

It would have been so easy
To have said those words aloud.
I could have told you that I loved you,
And you always made me proud.

I’m sorry that I didn’t say it then.
I loved you and you were the best of men.

Joyce; this is a nice tribute to a father. I don't remember much of my dad. The last time I saw him - I was only three. Thanks for sharing.

He knew..Some families just don't say I love you but show it with deeds..I do feel now that the words show be spoken frequently but not so much that the meaning becomes less of what it should be..Enjoyed reading your very apt work..Great topic chosen..Sara
