Diamonds That Loose Their Lusture

We are all born imperfect But yet pure in heart and mind Diamonds that shine and sparkle That lose their lustre with the ravages of time Life can be cruel and we soon get covered in layers of mud We wear a mask to the world That says I'm ok But hides the real person Both the bad and the good. Sometimes we have to excavate the layers That made us who we are To find ourselves And once again Sparkle like a diamond And twinkle like a star.. Peter Dome.copyright 2014. July.

One of Gail's last contests (I think it was diamond in rough, but maybe it was a different one) She edited the contest to read "cancelled" and I don't know what it means. People still kept entering the contest anyway. That is what I was talking about down below here.

Lovely write, Peter. I agree with you....the layers need to go. Sometimes, it's just easier to hide..the brilliance might be blinding! ;) Btw...Andrea meant that there was a contest on this theme, and the sponsor canceled it for some reason. Hope that is enough of an explanation.

THis is a sweet lesson about people. I bet it was meant for diamonds in the rough contest. Why the heck did she ever write Cancelled on that one? I wonder if she will go ahead and do a winners' list!!
