Death of a Chimpanzee

On the internet, there was a sad story I would see. This concerned someone and her pet chimpanzee. Because the primate inexplicably attacked a friend, the fifteen-year-old chimpanzee’s life had to end. Travis the chimp behaved erratically in his place. He attacked his owner’s friend by grabbing her face. This was another sad story about exotic pets. So many tales have ended with similar regrets. Has anyone seen a movie about an ape named “King Kong”? Keeping wild animals in captivity seems to be wrong. We should leave those creatures in their natural habitat. What is wrong with adopting either a dog or cat?

I think this is the same story as the one I heard about. It happened several years ago.

Robert, I saw the woman on Oprah Winfrey's show. She unmasked and showed her face. It was horrid. The owner, I believe, has since committed suicide. She could not take everyone hating her and she missed her chimpanzee. it's all so sad. thanks for catching my stupid typo. I usually call them fire bugs!! I really miss them. they are not in Utah. I grew up in Iowa. So now I can only see them as city lights!

I really enjoyed this wonderful write Robert! Poor chimp, probably got scared, reacted the only way he knew how! But yeah, he should have been in a zoo or put back in the wild, he would have still been alive if he were! Awesome Work!!

well, well said Robert, it is so sad to hear such news, pity it takes us so long to adjust to these truths. Leave well enough alone. Blessings and thank you, Brenda : )
