Day's End

The Dusk, he fell and shattered Day; In shards of color she then lay, As currents bore her life away, Like scattered flotsam, far away Into the calm of night And from the cove there came a sighing As her faded hues lay dying, Sinking fast with tears still crying, Fraught with crimson wounds, still crying Out from the murky depths And from the sea there came a roaring Over angry waves, then soaring, As the rainclouds started pouring; With such sorrow they were pouring Upon her watery grave Then from the skies there came a wailing Past the shore on winds prevailing, As her body kept on sailing, To the underworld, kept sailing, Never to return.

For an old sailor, this was an awesome read. I remember watching that sun sink over the horizon. On a calm day, it was beautiful. On a stormy day, it was downright magnificent. Vince
