Daybreak

My body creaks as bones ache, now that I'm fully awake. That bright sun hurts my eyes; my ears reject those morning cries. Feline lament, the cricket's chirp; I need to think about my work. So much to do, the list awaits; doctor's appointment, can't be late. Must shed this ache inside my head; I think I'll slip back into bed.
