Dark Desperation

the only sound is
weeping, weeping, weeping

Dark shadows
	o’er taking, suffocating
feel it
looming, looming, looming

Tired and broken
	losing the battle
tire, tired eyes
seeping, seeping, seeping

Tears, soft and hot
	down saddened cheeks slide
onto heaving breasts, heart
booming, booming, booming

Remembering warmth
	security a myth
for now there is only
sleeping, sleeping, sleeping and
weeping, weeping, weeping.

These are feelings to which I can relate, Trudy. When I'm "losing the battle," it sometimes help to write. I hate to think of you feeling so down. Please feel free to write to me anytime. I'm going to Soup Mail my email address to you. Today would have been my late Dad's birthday and I have just moved into his house. Memories are surrounding me. Sometimes it helps to share with a friend. Love, Carolyn
