Dandelions and Tattoo Ink
I can hear the birds singing to the ocean,
I feel the rain falling from the sky.
I tripped on the sidewalk last Tuesday,
Trying to see the dandelions fly.
Because when they flicker in the sunlight
I wanna watch them shine.
I tatooed them on my heartstrings,
So that I'll never die.
Because if their wishes are in you
You'll never need to cry.
They all sing "I love you"
They all just dream on by.
I felt the pain of all the tears,
From broken empty dreams,
They branded me with signs of hope,
Of seedlings in the breeze.
So when you see the ink I have
Just know it's apart of you,
Just like all who stop to blow,
And dream of things come true.
Cause when it flickers in the light,
You'll wanna see it shine.
Tattooed upon I am today,
So dreams can never die.
You see this wish lives in me,
Now I don't have to cry,
It shouts to me "I love you"
And all my dreams are right.
