Crystalline Crowd
Taupe people stand tall, thin,
disconnected from the crowd
from each other, in fact, shells
of sinew strung erect, unmoveable
What can be said to each other
after all? - about prismatic dreams
shining futures in grand life
warming to another's soulful song
Monodirectional, they can't relate,
yet the child is still held tight
as if frozen existence might melt
into some knotted ball of oneness
