I keep walking forward into the past.
Going sideways in a straight line.
I reach up for what brings me down.
I'm smiling an upward frown.
Will the darkness lead to light?
Through my weakness can I find might?
A broken vessel that longs to be fixed.
Within my mind, the contrary is mixed.
Crying I look up, fall on my knees.
What I thought was hot caused my heart to freeze
I seek answers to prayers I never said.
I think I'm living when inside I'm dead.
I need to be blinded before I can see.
I'm a finite person who's born for eternity.
Going backwards is forward, God knows the way.
Darkness transformed to light, night yields to day!
I bowed my head low, God lifted me high.
Broken wings healed, now I can fly.
Bonded to my King, is what set me free.
I give myself to Jesus and discover me.
