'Complication Pursued'

You ever wondered why You chose the person who doesn’t care? The person who has a propensity To struggle with showing affection You ever wished you could love the ones That wants to be your world The one who would make you their world Why is it that you want time? From the only person that doesn’t have any? From the person who has so many other priorities? Who would never make you their priority? It’s like making them your first choice, While you are just an option in theirs Meanwhile right in front of you You have a gem, That might not be what you think you need In the meantime they are exactly what you require Sometimes we spend too much time on wishful thinking Instead of embracing the obvious Only because you look for complicated When you can get uncomplicated Coupled with that sense of being treasured Being a priority Why do you continue to chase complicated?

I believe we chase complicated when the other person fights how they feel about you, quite honestly they may not be sure how you feel about them or they have no idea how you feel. Good poem

Wow, this sounds really familiar. Great poem this. I think it's very relevant, more than people might like to admit.

sounds like a very good question, Wilma. for someone with blinders on!! This is true for many people. I will never understand how people who once loved each other so madly can let it get so bad that they can't see how it's possible to be loved again by the person they desire! (not quite the same situation as your poem describes, but similar in nature).

There are many reasons, sadly. One of them, some men & some women believe they can change another. It is such a beautifully seductive misconception & error. Great piece!
