Close, Enough
Eyes close,
with pain for this night.
I ask for it all.
I call to the world,
hands are shaking.
Mind skips,
to when we first met.
The bounce in our step.
We were happier then,
kids were laughing.
Lips purse,
as the spirit seeps out.
It weakens with ice.
There's a chill in your eyes,
heart is thirsting.
Love songs,
will carry my words.
These voices are full.
They've been blocked by the walls,
and they're deepening.
Tears flow,
as the stars disappear.
The moon is alone.
Where did the light go,
we are hurting.
