Cleaning the Frig'

Well I cleaned out my refrigerator today The things I found there I'd rather not say The cost of this stuff what did I pay Now here I stand throwing it away The milk turned sour way too soon Thick enough now to use a spoon I wonder if honey does really ruin This is going to take me at least until noon What is that all covered with fuzz I can't even remember what it was The colors there are really strange To throw it out pronto I will arrange Oh that's the ugliest color of green That I believe I have ever seen I doubt this bowl will ever come clean The mold growing there looks down right mean Next come the vegetables in their bin I would never have believed the shape they're in No prize at the fair could they now win Get them out quickly I shall begin Well here I stand this afternoon With a sink full of dishes I must do soon A new shopping list hangs on the wall Because in my refrigerator remains no food at all ©Donna Jones

This is a great humorous one about what we face quite often..A no fun job but rewarding to see a clean refrigerator...Enjoyed reading so much..It has poured buckets here today but we have needed rain like this for a long time and our area is now catching up..I hope that your day has been good despite the dreary weather..Thanks for stopping by..Sara

Hi Donna - Your poem is a delight to read! Funny stuff! I try to keep my refrigerator clean, but since buying and eating food is not an exact science, it seems like something always spoils no matter how hard I try! - Gail

Yeah but as expensive as food is these days I've gotten much better! But I sure have to put my glasses on to read those very small expiration dates! Thanks for your kind remarks. Blessings

Big chuckle here! This is so true of most fridges! Stuff gets pushed to the back and forgotten and when you finally discover it, you need a gas mask to clean it out! LOL Loved this poet... love and big huggeroonies, Jack xox

Yeah actually from thirty five years ago. Mom always put everything in empty empty butter bowls then made me clean frig when it got crazy. Never forgot how funny I thought she was.
