City Lights

City lights on the horizon bright as any star, But tame, Controlled, Unlike a real star's feirce untamed beauty, A passing alien might think us a world of stars, Our people of fire, Our streets and buildings flames and gasses, A land fierce and hostile, Only existing in legends, Some places have none or very few people of the flame, But no, The city stars are much to white to pass as close stars.
