Christmas Without You

It's my first Christmas since we said goodbye, If the truth be known, I'd rather hide. One gift I truly wish for...would be to hold you, to kiss you one more time, but then I'd wish it once again, and on we'd go, there would be no end. Christmas lights so warm and bright, don't you know I feel dead tonight? What right do I have to smile and cheer, when the one I love will not be here. We use to go and pick a tree, our hearts were warm and full of glee. We'd bring it home and string the lights, that corner stands quite bare tonight. The snowflakes fall, I miss that too... I wish the sky would just turn blue. No snowman made...no apple cider, the northern star no longer brighter. You were the one who brought Christmas to life. You were my loving and beautiful wife.
