Christmas Future
My little ones are now grown men
with wives and children of their own
my Christmas joy is grandchildren
these loving feelings are well known.
The year is twenty-forty three
I can’t believe how time has flown!
I’m grateful to be seventy
with family blessed, never alone.
Christmas blew in with steady speed
another year has come and gone
Stockings are hung, carols I lead,
Still get a thrill with waking dawn.
The Christmas magic has remained
passed down from generations old
heartfelt traditions never waned -
of cherished faith and stories told!
My husband now plays Santa Claus,
the role delights with children’s smiles.
He’s softened nicely for the cause
becoming sweetly versatile!
And after all the years we’ve shared
each Christmas holds dear memories
With age and wisdom, we’re aware
of blessings found in family -
So grateful for God’s gifts, are we!
