Christmas Fun

Christmas fun. Teddy bears, and stockings – candy and some treats, The kids look forward –to all the good eats. The pretty Christmas tree and the lights strung Had to make sure all the stockings were hung. The Christmas ham, and the cookies baking, Had to make sure this was the best season in the making. We all get so busy, and our minds seem to forget, What was it, we needed at the supermarket? Sending out cards and wrapping the gifts, and tying bows. It’s almost become a chore, and only added to our woes. Family is coming and things have to be just right, Making our homes a beautiful sight. The snow is falling, and the streets are slick, We may have eaten too much – it made you sick. All of this to say Seasons Greetings and get a gift, It’s not hard, roll the snowman – don’t lift. It’s funny these words I write, but we should take thought. That Christmas isn’t what you do, or may have even bought. The season is to remember and love the baby Jesus boy. Not to get a gift, treasure or a toy. Keep the reason for Christmas alive and well, Don’t forget to include Jesus and all you should tell. It’s o.k. to decorate, and enjoy the fun and all, But keep Jesus in your Christmas, it will be the best you recall. Wendell Mays
