Christmas Day
A REAL HOME
If I stand on my toes I can see it...
Lights and balls in a tree
I want one, so much!
I asked, but he looked at me so angrily
I never asked again, I know he will
hurt me again, and such...
I want to be an angel at school
Oh yes please, I will stand so still
With a white dress and wings
But I am a boy, they laugh so hard
I don't understand Christmas
Today the parents were at school
To sit at dinner with their kids
I sat very close to a mom
As if I can let down my guard
But I don't, I looked like a fool
She regarded me so strangely
I want a real home, a tree, and angels
I just want to belong.
Is that so wrong?
