Children of War
All Children Are Beautiful
But born in a world of hate
Each one is wonderful
Born a little too soon or a little too late
Not given a chance to truly know peace
Hunger and wars are their daily routine
Due to greed or difference of beliefs
A time of suffering like none we've ever seen
Our precious, tiny gifts of wonder
Our sweet bundles of joy
For profit, they are murdered
An elitist's twisted ploy
Laughter replaced by muffled sobs
Timid creatures who once were babes
Armed and angry mobs
Body bags and unmarked graves
The world is a sad, cold place
When little ones die in vain
We have failed oh' human race
We should all feel great shame.
