Chalk Outlines

Chalk Outlines By Kevin Robey August 1, 2013 [verse 1] My heart is on fire Devoured by flames My mind is too tired To recall the names All the things I never said Everything I ever did Comes back to this bed And the time that you hid The ice melting in my veins That are made of glass The fire burning my name And my soul in the past I can’t feel your heart Running out of time Signs when they start Telling stories of crime [chorus] I’ll tell you one thing that you never knew Chalk outlines in this crime scene were true Here lay all that was left of the man I could never be Was it was justice or mercy that cast me back to the sea? [verse 2] Every lash I ever laid on you Playing on repeat in my head The damage done is visibly true Along with blood that I have shed Ready again the shining knife Retreat to somber melodies Hope the blade can save my life I can even hear you judging me Can’t you see my honesty? I DON’T WANT TO BE SAVED Please burn every part of me Pour my ashes into the grave A soul of the damned I’ll be ok A body in demand For one final day [Chorus] I’ll tell you one thing that you never knew Chalk outlines in this crime scene were true Here lay all that was left of the man I could never be Was it was justice or mercy that cast me back to the sea?

Wow, this is great! Not only is it so moving and relatable, it would make such a great song! Thanks for the inspiration, the realism is amazing.
