We wave goodbye to winter with its ice and frost and snow
That thick blanket on the ground it has melted long ago
The icy fingers of Jack Frost now no longer feel the cold
For brighter days of spring will warm his bones so old
Dull dark days are behind us and the winter chill has passed
Spring is waiting in the wings; golden days are here at last!
Our clocks will soon spring forward and we lose an hour’s sleep
Bright crocuses and tulips through the earth begin to peep
We welcome in the spring, she is dressed in emerald green
She drapes herself on trees where new leaves can be seen
Lambs gambol in the fields oh how I love to see them play
They bounce around so happily on a warm and sunny day
Dainty daffodils dance delightfully in the zephyr breeze
Unfortunately poor hay fever sufferers now begin to sneeze!
Our days are getting longer and the sun begins to shine
Oh how I adore this time of year - our glorious springtime!
