Candle Light
By candle light I write,
By candle light I dream,
Of faraway places.
By candle light I see the face
Of the one who'll take my place.
And I dream of the day
When I'll be no more,
I'll be knocking on Heaven's sweet door.
And you'll have to worry no more.
I'll always eat,
never purge,
Just let me go and soon.
By candle light,
My sweet knife,
Gleams like the light from the moon.
My life will come to an end
How I'll miss it, my dear
And all by candle light I fear.
Turn on the lights,
Blow out the candle,
On death I now have a handle,
No need to burn no more
tonight
I am already reaching for Heaven
and
Candle light.
