Called To Action
They've been sitting, primed and ready -
Just a'rarin,' as they say -
But they weren't called to action
'Til I summoned them today.
For the ones they are replacing
Have provided great support,
Though as age has done its number
Lately they have come up short.
So I made the switch, just hoping
My resolve would not get weaker
As I slowly tied the laces
On each brand-new walking sneaker!
