Butterfly

You are like a butterfly, You flutter here, you flutter there, Just like a butterfly You flutter everywhere And where you come to rest, That's where I want to be My pretty little butterfly. To cage a butterfly or clip it's wings Is not the thing to do As I know you see that butterflies are free And they are all the more beautiful because they are free. But to be where a butterfly comes to rest, Who could ask for more, Except a fool who is too blind to see How beautiful a butterfly can be, Especially one that is free to be what it wants to be

I am so glad Venita. I think now more than ever we need life to have a little romance in it because if we don't have something to counteract the attacks on everything that makes us human we will lose the war and become robots with nothing human left about us. Long may peace be with you. Best regards David in NZ

Thanks. That poem truly came from my heart. There is no pleasure in stifling the freedom of others. Keep those poems coming David

Glad you like it. We have to keep romance alive and hope. You have to risk failure and getting hurt too. I wrote this in my early twenties. I am lucky I grew up with thinking time and with parents who expected me to make mistakes. My mother encouraged hobbies and taught me to find things to look forward to and get excited about. Thanks for feedback.
