Burn

The glow lights up the night. Ashes drift about and fall to the ground. Soot on my face as I take in the sight. Destruction and decay found. You tried to win. I almost lost. Burnt a bridge. A love was lost. Now my burns have scars. The longer I cry the more they burn. I throw away the thought of you, into the fire and watch it burn. May you rest in peace. Forever away from my heart. May the fire burn you to oblivion. As of now, a fresh new life, I start.

There's a river of hurt in this piece, discarded love. Powerful poetry Misty. Where have you been all this time? - have a lovely weekend....:)
