Burden

I've got a load on my mind but where should I start Should I tell my innermost secrets hidden in my heart Should I dare say that I've messed up again Or how about how my body is riddled with pain The fact that I have almost lost self control What do you do when you have waited for so long 'When will it be my turn' becomes an anthem song When every bridge you cross just leads to one more When every time you try you cannot unlock the door The door which keeps you trapped from moving on The door which will keep you behind when everyone else has gone What do you do when you have so much to say But there is no hear to hear what you have to convey You just want to be able to speak what's on your mind You search and search but no confidant can you find There may be a risk that they'll spill your beans To others who to know your business are ever so keen I've got a load on my mind but where should I start Sin after sin I release like some poisonous dart What do you do when others make you feel inferior When in fact they're scared that you may be superior To knock you down so that they may feel good Instead of lifting you up when they know they should To make you feel bad for speaking your mind As they watch you go forward, afraid they'll be left behind I want to talk - if only you knew how much I'm hoping you have the remedy- have you got the Midas touch To take away what I feel deep downside To banish the thoughts of I'm better off if I died What do you say when you don't know who to turn to I'm confused and scared, but can I turn to you To tell you all that I have inside To help my heart beat again....as it slowly died
