Broken

Days before I felt this coming Days before I heard the humming On the distant horizon I saw the storm brewing And I sat racking my brain And I felt the odds stacking with pain As I knew the night would come And your sun would set And you’d be filled with this great regret The life we live we shouldn’t do The life we took has shaken you The bond we share you no longer need My love for you can no longer feed The look in your eyes said it all The sound of your voice is what made me fall The tone of your gaze now switches To glazed over and the day’s over And my light’s done Hence the darkness from Two lonely hearts now worlds apart From the ones who made the beatings start Flat lines no more I sing my haloed 7 lines Now I’m left with only broken dreams A broken bond, not one But two broken ones No more swans for my broken pond No more poems to wish you Only love poems that cry cause I miss you And tears fall cause I insist you don’t turn back Wishing for smiles to thank you But only my sadness yanks you Back to the reality of this day Back to the sadness of the way It hurts as my mind flirts With ideas of death The voice within myself Says Its my ego, not my heart that's broken...
