Blood Red Roses
i saw thee once, so long ago
a full moon like my soul soaring
to see a steep path to the heavens
to fell a silken veil we call light
upon the faces of those blood red roses that grew there
where no step did dare to venture here
upon those blood red roses
to stoop did you, and dared linger
to smell their odorous love, their soul
to smell them as they did, you were enchanted
by the grace in their presence
to see you, while the light did pour on those blood red roses
your face did grieve in sorrow
till only did your eyes stay the same
a ghost to name, you did glide away
whose name i did not know
fat can be called any other name
bid by sorrow, can not then
hope bide as beauty?
for twas fat to see you there
and hope once see you again by those blood red roses
