Blissful Unawareness

Reality lies sandwiched between fantasy and faith. But the existence of hope leaves room for uncertainty. Authority looms in black, with its rigid arms outstretched. And swallows human rights while defecating slavery. Lonely hearts desperately haunt the edge of dying dreams. And promises rain manna on gullible hungry souls. Freedom fuels decisions that take you outside the box. For conformity's rooted in blissful unawareness. Puppets get tangled in strings dangling from fragments of trust. And stumble blindly through life in pursuit of phantom dreams. (Blank Verse) 2/26/2015

A lot of truth here Emil and great use of vocabulary - once asked where my son was going to get his religion from I replied from Sci-Fi & Fantasy where it belongs. Many writers of these genre explore the topic endlessly - like Piers Anthony & Orson Scott Card- Light & Love

Quite a fascinating piece here, Emile. You express things very originally. I particularly love the third stanza. Awesome work! The last stanza as well sticks with me... pursuing phantom dreams... oooh, its really eerie and carries a lot of truth. Always, Laura
