Blinded By Vanity

My heart aches for you, I feel so bad, I wish you could see how beautiful you are, you just don't get it man, I watch you constantly ask for opinions, how do I look in these jeans? How do you think I should do my hair? Would you ever date someone like me? You try so hard to fix your outside appearance that you can no longer see, Your heart is blinded daily by the spirit of vanity, It manipulates insecurities and plays with your heart and soul, It makes you feel like your not good enough, and when you feed it, you allow it to grow, Use the authority God gave you, starve that demon away, Stand up and do something, fight for your life, walk out your door without makeup on your face, Each step you take, you will see, that stronghold will have to let go, If you don't feed it, it will eventually die of starvation and give your heart room to grow, Real love will replace those insecurities, And you will look back one day, And wonder why you even cared about what anyone else had to say.
