Black is a shadow of light,
a collage of shades of grey.
And cringing back from the sun,
it submerges during day.

It's conceals eternity,
within the absence of light.
For its pigment absorbs all,
shrouding everything in sight.

A featureless ebony,
it outstretches time and space.
Yet multitudes of colors,
are encased in its embrace.

It pools within silhouettes,
blotting out reality.
And slips into a seamless,
semblance of finality.
