Black

At the beginning, in the cradle, all were black and comely. Great civilization evolved to flourish and build magnificent monuments to humanity. The world of black faces left traces around the globe of their art and government. Over millennia an invasion of fair-skinned parasites systematically rewrote history to exclude these ancestors. Pushed from the Nile to ever-shrinking lands unable to sustain the Ancients, their sons and daughters now starve. Packages thrown from planes like bones to dogs contain nutritionless gruel or plastic containers of water that leech chemicals. Gaunt faces appear in channel-changed t.v. ads as the genocide goes on. Herein these lines lies impotent rage, a caricature of humanity, an aching soul who can only write and write and write words which make no difference to a child's belly tonight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ for the Sami Al-Khalili contest ~~~~~~~~~~~~ NOTE: "The Destruction of Black Civilization: Great Issues of Race from 4500 B.C. to 2000 A.D" written by Chancellor Williams is truly an eye-opening read !!

Wow Sami sure stirred up a big pot of whoop arse LOL perhaps you've read mine, The Body and the Blood. Your verse tells a truth white folk do not wish to hear. The cradle of civilization held dark skinned people! So, in all likelyhood "J" was not lilly white. Big hugs to you and thanks for the nice feed back. Sorry we got started off on the wrong foot. I'm still trying to get it out of my mouth. (pout) Light & Love
