Liquid Ebony
Black inks space, blotting up light
smeared by the sun at day's end.
And cushions a starry night,
awaiting dawn's early glow.
Behind its veil of nightfall,
indigo morphs into black.
And suddenly, shadows merge,
changing into silhouettes.
Each night, liquid ebony
saturates infinity.
And all of the universe,
gets encased in its embrace.
Reality hides black holes
in places absent of light.
And forms an eternal pitch,
wherein color goes to die.
