Big Red George
Big Red George
Flew in from Apple Gorge
Spotted and with wings of red
And with a white spot on his head
He flew in at half past ten
It was the best place he had been
Lots of trees and fields of grass
Was it paradise at last?
Other bugs were all around
He heard the bees and crickets sound
On the ground were running ants
Carrying the leaves of plants
The sounds of bugs were everywhere
As Big Red George flew through the air
He landed on a maple tree
Where he saw a resting bee
Greetings there; what is your name?
My name is George and I just came
What is this place that I now see?
It’s Apple Gorge, the place to be
No poison sprays or cars are here
It’s a park so don’t you fear
I’m home at last Big Red replied
With his new friend by his side
