Being Baby
If I were a baby I would sleep profoundly
Nestled in a dream of ruling the world
Toys would fight to surround me in war
To be by my side in conquest moving forward
Dad would walk me around on a pillow
Take me to work with him
Tuck me under one shoulder for safety
That way only getting half a job done
It is so hard to accomplish industry
With only one hand available
He can't afford to let me go
Being buddies forever and all that
If I were a baby and not much more
Sleeping would be my constant companion
It is a profound obligation that I treasure
Being a baby would be wonderful
I look forward to the future when I can return to the womb
That would be nice too
Authors Note: In fact, my dad did walk me around on a pillow when I was a baby. I've put on a few pounds since then so I guess that would be a little difficult for him these days. I'm dieting though. I'm hoping to get back to my original weight; 7Lbs. 3 ounces.
