Avenue of the Moon

Shades of black On an ebony night As the moon shines down Such a wonderful sight A channel of water Mirrors the sky As the clouds float In my thankful eyes The avenue of the moon Silhouettes the tops of the trees Like a silent guard of honor In blissful guarantee Another capture of delight In this world where we live For generations and beyond If we give, she relives http://www.thehighlanderspoems.com/nature-5.php

I really like this one, James. I love the descriptiveness and I can just see the scene of the lake and moon and dark sky. Keep writing. Sara

What a sight to behold, James! Amazing poetry in its purest form. Love the thought of the trees standing "like a silent guard of honor." Another powerful write from the Highlander. Please take a bow, dear friend. Love, Carolyn

Beautiful Rhyme! Great imagery, rhyme and flow! That was a beautiful night! Haven't seen one like it in years-too many artificial lighting here! Peace and love, Audrey

So lovely, Highlander, I can almost see the moon in all her glory.. we do know the Moon is a she, right?... u are too kind with your comments but I appreciate them so much... I see u have been writing as much as myself today... my pen and paper now follows me everywhere I go... domesticating or shopping ... when verses begin to flow.. I hand to stop to go..and write... lets see how inspired I am after Game 6 of the Series tonight... Linda-Marie, P.E.P.S. "Sweetheart"..
