Assailing Marine
The sea is calm and collected
A sparkling blanket of blue
But on the horizon looms a tempest
And the veil becomes choppy
Lightning strikes in the distance
Causing the tidal sheets to vacate
Like the cocking of a pistol
And the mouth of Poseidon opens wide
The wall of destruction approaches
Bowing to nothing, the terror
It bears an iron fist
And the great wave swallows
Nothing but darkness remains
With a swirling, watery chaos
A strange limbo surrounds
For a time, lacking direction
But suddenly the bath plug is pulled
And the liquid devastation dissipates
The trident returns to its cradle
And the storm subsides
