Arrival

Arrival is the beginning of something else, Termination of departure and travel, Respite and excitement in the realm of the unique Or perhaps the tread into beloved familiarity. It is the coming home, the planting of roots, The yeast and salt respiration of fresh baked bread, And it burns like love on oil-lamp waters, In sheets of fiery rain upon the distant shores. It is the thudding of the heart in tines of bone, It is the silver magnesium camera flash in the eyes, The mother earth battery jolt in genitalia, It is the ice cream angel kissing on the lips. Arrival is when we are together, And expectations of togetherness when apart, It is our go away slowly come back quickly mantra, It is our flesh upon our flesh in deeds of love.
