Anyone's Guess

Once I relished life, but now, I bear it. For it's ground me down and crushed my spirit. Global warming’s real, so are crimson tides. But their world impact, our government hides. The world deals in blood, it's bartered like trade. And call me crazy, but I feel afraid. My friends have dwindled, I'm down to a few. And I realize what time has put me through. Death approaches fast when life has an end. And I pray my soul will someday ascend. What truth awaits me is anyone's guess. I hope it's heaven, but expect far less. (Verse) 5/20/2016

One can feel the melancholy of looking at life closer to its end than its beginning. Hope you doing well, beautiful poem Emile.

Your poem echoes the thoughts and feeling of most of the people my friend, myself included! Terrible truths you tell but we better listen. As far as heaven is concerned let leave that to a higher authority! Marvelous poem dear, Emile!
