Any Someone

It can take any someone the rest of their life to explain a strange dream they had one restless night it left them with a whisper that seems never to die an invisible message which colours their eyes and the worlds never the same not in that changing light And through all the years the dreams echo refrain unspoken, unheard, but it calls out just the same from loves sweetest tongue to sorrows resentful remains in those moments of peace that every struggle contains it floats ever truthful but stays still unattained But something of worth from the dream gently unfolds in steel and defiance it steadily holds it stands to the storms the crush of a petals fugitive perfume eternal desire for something unknown a simple wish of a lifetime in freedoms sweet arms Every foothold surpasses every rock every grip upon nothing still pulls you up and there on the grasslands all the seeds you have sown the children of flowers and now the dream’s not your own it is living and breathing from the love you’ve passed on Yes it can take any someone the rest of their life to explain a strange dream they had one sleepless night and as it called to your future so it called to their heart in the eyes of your daughters and the eyes of your sons is the passion to hold onto something unknown a simple wish for their lifetime to be held in freedoms sweet arms
