Another Pesky Mosquito

A Pesky Mosquito….. Again Here I am, palms and fingers slightly raised and finely poised to pen enthralling verses of prose…. Netbook computer nestled snugly on this messy table top that’s a bag lady’s treasure trove… Creative juices in full flow, words and phrases are outpouring in a steady staccato… Great is my anticipation to finish fast this literary effort filled with finely worded prose… So engrossed and carried away was I enthralled in the fertile grounds of my imagination… Never did it register the reality down at my feet where there was a tiny creature of abomination… Ouch! There is that familiar prick of pain, that only a creature as vile as a mosquito can bring… Try as I might, I cannot ignore that insidious pain, my itching nerves, they screamed for a relief… Cursed that pesky little insect! There it goes, out of the window, my train of thought!.... Thus I thought as I reached below to scratch the itch and provide the relief my nerves sought… Woe is me, trying to find peace and inspiration in order to craft creatively this literary piece.. While down below, a pesky tiny mosquito flies unrestrained hoping to feast on one of my veins… Where is that cursed flying pesky mosquito, my eyeballs strained to get it into my sight… I have both my palms open wide, a foot apart, waiting to smash that hateful insect in flight… If only it flies within my eagle sight, Heavens please forgive me if mine will be too almighty a smite… God fearing man that I am, I hesitate not in smashing such a pest with all my might…. Crouched under the table, a picture perfect of a crouching tiger within sight of a hapless prey… It did cross my angry mind, take the easy way like before and just blast away with a bug spray… But then, there will be no moment of immeasurable pleasure as when smacking the creature… Smashing with my hands provides an awesome satisfaction as I get to grind the pest into pulp… As I waited, I felt regret, for all it took was a little mosquito bite, my literary creativity took flight.. Anger had flared uncontrolled while peace and quiet, thought and focus, they are brushed aside… So,crouched low under the desk with bated breath, full of angry impatience did I continue to wait … The biblical Job from the Old Testament would have envied at the patience I displayed… Come on, you pesky little mosquito! When are you coming to papa…?
