Angel Prayer

When stormy times fling a harsh fate, Let gentle stroke dilute the gall; When bitter chimes bring painful slate, Let touch now yoke as silence falls. True unseen friend who guards my way, Teach me to pray before I act; True guardian grand who guides my stay, May wholesome play prime my clear tact. When darkness deep surrounds with fear, Be then my light that helps me see; When troubles creep to strangle cheer, Help me steer sight with love that frees. I feel a calm, kind presence here, A gentle hint to set things right; I feel a balm, fond touch draw near, A sparkling tint that ushers light. When work and toil cast burdens deep, Inflame my heart with soul most brave; When grime and soil fling pains I weep, Inspire my start with signs that save. Yes I can feel my angel near Who inspires me to dare embrace; Yes I sense still my guardian here, Share what must be my time and space. Dark moments fight to cloud bold shout, May bold feel sire and prime love's quest; Dark gloomy night when lights go out, Be then my fire to spur new zest. When stress and strain bring dreary daze, Let heart and soul retreat within; When strain and pain hurl weary craze, Let joy make whole that peace unseen. Leon Enriquez 25 January 2015 Singapore
